Paint Polishing and Protection for a Deeper, Glossier Finish
Clean paint and great-looking paint are not the same thing. Our paint enhancement work uses a stage one machine polish to refine tired, dull paintwork, then protects the finish so it stays looking its best for longer.
Honest expectations: a stage one polish enhances gloss and reduces the look of light swirls and dullness. It is not designed to remove every scratch or defect.
Know the Difference
Cleaning, Enhancement, Polishing and Protection Explained
These terms are often used interchangeably, but they describe different jobs. Understanding them makes it much easier to choose the right service for your car.
Step 1
Cleaning
Removes dirt sitting on the paint through washing and clay bar decontamination.
Does not change how glossy or swirled the paint itself looks.
Step 2
Paint Enhancement
The goal of improving the appearance of the paint: more gloss, more clarity, less dullness.
An outcome, achieved here through polishing, not a coating.
Step 3
Paint Polishing
The machine process that refines the paint surface. Our stage one polish is a single polishing stage.
A single stage enhances; it does not remove deeper defects.
Step 4
Paint Protection
A layer applied over prepared paint, such as wax, paintwork protection or ceramic coating.
Protects the finish but does not correct what is underneath.
Step 5
Glass Protection
Glass ceramic coating, applied to screens to help water clear more easily.
A separate treatment for glass, not paint.
Stage One Polish
Stage One Polish: Realistic Paint Enhancement
Over time, paint loses its sparkle. Washing, weather and everyday use leave a haze of fine swirls and dullness that a wash alone cannot fix, because the issue is in the surface of the paint rather than on top of it.
A stage one polish is a single machine polishing stage on the paintwork. It refines the surface to improve gloss and clarity and to reduce the appearance of light swirls and dullness. For many cars, that is the difference between paint that looks tired and paint that looks cared for.
It is important to be clear about what a single stage can achieve. Deeper scratches, chips and marks that have gone through the clear coat will not be removed. If you have particular marks you are worried about, tell us before booking and we will give you an honest view.
What It Can Help With
- Improved gloss and clarity
- A reduced look of light swirls
- Paint that looks dull or hazy
- A better base before protection
What It Is Not
- A guarantee to remove every scratch
- A repair for chips or deep marks
- Multi-stage paint correction
Preparation
Why Polishing Starts With a Clay Bar
Polishing contaminated paint is a mistake. Bonded particles left on the surface can be dragged around during polishing, working against the very finish you are trying to improve.
That is why a clay bar treatment comes first. It lifts bonded contamination and leaves the paint smooth, so the stage one polish can work directly on the paint surface. It also means any protection applied afterwards bonds to clean, prepared paint rather than to a layer of fallout.
Protection Options
Protecting the Finish Once It Looks Right
After the paint has been cleaned and enhanced, protection helps it stay that way. There is more than one option depending on how long you want the protection to last.
Car Waxing
A classic finish option. Wax adds warmth and depth to freshly polished paint and gives it a protective layer between washes. A good fit if you enjoy keeping the car topped up regularly.
Paintwork Protection
A protective treatment applied to prepared paintwork to help guard the finish you have invested in. We will talk you through the right option for your car and how you use it.
Ceramic Coating
The longest-lasting option we offer, available as a 6-month or 12-month coating. Ideal straight after a stage one polish.
Glass Protection
Glass Ceramic Coating
Paint is not the only surface worth protecting. A glass ceramic coating is applied to the glass and is intended to help water clear from the screens more easily when you are driving in the rain.
It pairs naturally with paint protection, so the whole exterior is treated rather than just the bodywork. Ask about adding it when you book your paint enhancement.
Made for Wet Weather
Coated glass is intended to help rain clear from the screen more easily, a practical benefit for anyone driving in changeable weather.

FAQ
Paint Enhancement Questions
Will a stage one polish remove all the scratches on my car?
No. A stage one polish improves gloss and reduces the appearance of light swirls and dullness, but deeper scratches, chips and marks through the clear coat will remain. If you have specific marks in mind, tell us before booking and we will be honest about what to expect.
Is a stage one polish the same as paint correction?
It is a single polishing stage aimed at enhancing the paint, rather than a multi-stage process. For many cars it makes a clear difference to how the paint looks.
Do I need to polish before applying protection?
Not always. Protection can go on clean, decontaminated paint. Polishing first simply means you are protecting a better-looking finish, which is why the two are often booked together.
What is the difference between wax and paintwork protection?
Both add a protective layer to prepared paint. Wax is the traditional finish, valued for the depth it adds. We will recommend the protection that best suits your car and how you use it.
Can I add glass ceramic coating on its own?
Get in touch and tell us what you have in mind. We will advise on the best way to include glass ceramic coating for your car.
